Ca-Asia Lane

 

Ca-Asia Lane is an academic scholar, author and advocate for suicide survivors and a retired United States Army Commissioned Officer. As a researcher, she uses dance and leadership to disrupt the social norms of leadership roles within the culture of dance ministry. With over 20+ years of service, in numerous leadership positions throughout her professional career, she uses daily leadership nuggets to incite awareness and change the dialogue centered around leadership development. As a suicide survivor she encourages other survivors on how to simply get through the next day after the suicide loss of a loved one. Her own personal story is one of hope and a Free2Dance mindset of healing after tragedy.  on how the seek with the most rewarding being, leading others while deployed in a combat environment.

Ca-Asia is the founder of wHolyPraise Dance LLC and WPDM Publishers.
Her passion is to help others identify with the uniqueness of dance and to communicate such expressions of love through creative worship.

Ca-Asia is a strong advocate for suicide prevention and suicide awareness. She is a guest speaker at local colleges and emergency responder events, advancing the message of awareness and how we all need each other to survive.

Ca-Asia has an admiration and scholarly appreciation for the study of leadership. Her academic studies and military travels have allotted her the opportunity to travel frequently throughout the United States and internationally, providing instruction and mentorship in the areas of liturgical dance ministry and leadership.

She currently teaches online virtual courses on Models of Leadership & Leadership Development with Kingdom Life Academy Institute. Ca-Asia is a graduate of Georgetown University’s Master of Executive Leadership (EML) and is currently enrolled in the Organizational Leadership and Ecclesial Studies PhD Program at Regent University, Virginia Beach, VA.

Ca-Asia is the author of Free to Dance, A Suicide Survivor’s Memoir, which is currently recognized by the American Association for Sucidology as a recommended read for suicide survivors. She is also the author of, Changing The Dance, Leadership Nuggets for Dance Ministry Leaders.

Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S. and it is the 11th leading cause of death in the state of VA.

Research suggests that one death by suicide can potentially affect 147 people; and intimately affects 6 people, that identify as suicide loss survivors.

In the state of VA: 2nd leading cause of death (15-34); 3rd leading cause of death 10-14.
